Dunmore Community School Celebrates Earth Day April 22nd
The Green Schools Committee organised a host of events to mark Earth Day April 22. These included a guided walk on the Bog Loop starting at the Historic Dunmore Castle. The students were accompanied by Rosie – Mr. Daly’s Dog
for this stunning walk washed with beautiful spring sunshine. The Bird Song was everywhere and spring flowers in full bloom, bluebells, primroses and gorse in particular. The students walked and chatted along this magnificent trail. In addition, there was a great display of posters & banners to mark the event around the school; highlighting this year’s Theme – Plastics V’s the Planet.
Other activities included a Reflection on the theme as well as a green Quiz and green dance games. A special word of thanks to Ms. O Reilly and the Art Dep. for their support and creativity with posters and a beautiful Banner.
