Saoirse & Sarah qualify for All-Ireland’s
It was a very proud day for Dunmore Community School when two of our young students qualified for the All-Ireland finals in Athletics. Sarah Harnett (1st Year) ran a personal best to come second in the 1500m. Saoirse Hunter (2nd Year) also ran a fantastic race and came second in the 800m. Lily Concannon (1st Year) narrowly missed out on qualifying when she was just beaten on the finish line. All three girls are members of Tuam Athletics Club and they have worked so hard this season. Sean Burns (2nd Year) just missed out on qualification when he came an impressive fourth in the Shot Putt. Mary Concannon came 6th in the Junior Shot Putt. This was excellent for both students as they have no real experience in this competition. Unfortunately, Dylan Hannon was unable to compete in the 800m due to injury. The All -Ireland finals take place in Tullamore on 4th June. We wish Saoirse & Sarah the very best of luck!
