LC and LCA Graduation 2021
Well done and best wishes to all our Leaving Cert and Leaving Cert Applied students who finished their exams last week. We marked this momentous occasion with a small graduation ceremony last Thursday, the 24th June, in the school auditorium.
The past year and a half has been a difficult one for us all in society but especially for our exam students. They have had to deal with the worry and stress of preparing for their exams in a very uncertain landscape. They have had two periods of online learning and they had to prepare for a very different type of Leaving Cert with Accredited grades and revised exams. Through all of this, they have not had the outlets of extracurricular activities or socialising that would normally have formed part and parcel of their senior years in school. Like all schools, we had to put many measures in place to keep us safe and ensure the school remained open. I would like to thank our 6th-year student body, for their continuous cooperation and good nature throughout the year.
We are extremely fortunate and privileged in Dunmore CS to have had this fantastic group of students in our school. They are a credit to themselves, their families and to our school. They have made such an effort throughout all their years to help in so many ways to make our school a friendly, enjoyable environment. I would like to take this opportunity to commend them on the way they dealt with the many challenges presented to them this year and the resilience that they have shown in rising to meet them all. This maturity and resilience will serve them well going forward.
I wish them all the very best in whatever path life takes them in their futures. It was a genuine pleasure to have worked with them over the past few years. I hope they will always look back at their time in DCS with fond memories. DQuinn.
We look forward to presenting the awards to the Graduates of 2020 when it is safe to do so.
