Juvenile Boys’ Football vs Davitt College
On a wet Thursday the boys travelled to Castlebar for their second match of the year. Spurred on by their unfortunate loss in their tight first match and with healthier numbers the team were determined to come out of this meet on top and they did not disappoint.
Taking a few minutes at the start to settle into the game our lads took ownership of the game. Considering the slippery playing conditions Dunmore left nothing to chance ensuring passes, support play and scoring was on point while taking the advantage of winning the majority of both our own kickouts as well as the opponents. This resulted in a healthy lead by half time at 1:12 to 0:04.
Credit to Davitt College for battling on and they did return to the field in the second half with more bite. However it was clear Dunmore was the stronger team on the day and continued to add the scoring tally leaving us in a comfortable position to allow all players a run in the game. A great display by Dunmore lead to the final score being 3:21 to 2:10 to Dunmore. Next game will determine our position in the group and will be against Balla after midterm. Training will be after school the Monday we come back from midterm from 4-5.30.
