Galway County Senior Schools B Championship Quarter Final

St. Pauls Oughterard 2 – 07 Dunmore Community School 3 – 07

Dunmore travelled to Oughterard on Wednesday last. The opposition proved a sterner test than our opening game. Dunmore started the game well and set the tone for the remainder of the game with good tackling and excellent movement from out inside line. Robert Henegehan got our opening goal from a fine run from Michael Hett. Dunmore were up by three at halftime. St. Pauls took the game to Dunmore in the Third quarter and outscored Dunmore by 4 points. Dunmore left their best spell till the final quarter and again it was Robert Heneghan’s deft touch to goal which gave Dunmore back the lead in which they wouldn’t surrender again. Colm Costello got the last score of the game from a long range free.
Once again, an excellent team performance ensured Dunmore would progress to the semi-final. Players who really shone on a dull day included debutant Padraig Martyn, Michael Hett, Cathal Meehan, Dylan Coleman, Robert Heneghan and Colm Costello.
