Dunmore Community School host a very successful Careers Expo 2019
Ms. Scarry assisted by the Transition Year and LCA students in Dunmore Community School hosted a very successful Careers Expo in the school on Friday 8th March. Our 3rd year, TY, LCA, 5th and 6th year students got a fantastic opportunity to speak to representatives from 30 information stands which included third level colleges and universities, financial institutions and local construction and pharamaceutical industries. It was wonderful to welcome parents to participitate in this very informative event as well as students and staff from other post primary schools in the local area. Now that a little time has passed since the event hopefully students have had time to process the information they gathered and this is helping them make informed choices about TY, LCA and senior cycle subject choice options. Our 6th year students can also use this information to help them prepare for upcoming PLC interviews, decide on CAO ‘change of mind’ options or deciding on apprenticeships that they are interested in.
