Building Works progressing well

It has been a busy summer here in Dunmore CS. Our building works are progressing extremely well and we hope to have everything completed for the 26th August, the first day of term for our incoming 1st years.

At this stage, the old heating system has been completely removed and new pipework and radiators fitted throughout the old building and redecoration started. Our old inefficient oil burners are now gone and they have been replaced by four energy-efficient gas-fired boilers. We are just waiting for the installation of our bulk gas tanks. Our boiler room has been completely refitted with a state of the art building management system. Classrooms have been fitted with individual thermostats to control the temperature of each room and a draft lobby is being added to the front hall this week.

The 200mm external insulation is progressing well, with plastering started on some parts of the building already. Phase one of our new energy efficient double glazing and external doors were fitted last month, and the final phase started today, Once these are fitted, the rest of the external insulation will be completed. and the remaining external LED lighting will be fitted.

The installation of our 19 solar panels has also begun and will hopefully be completed in the next few days.
