Break The Seal Project with NUIG
Some of our Transition Year students attended ‘Break the Seal’ project at NUIG yesterday. This project focuses on connecting second-level students to the archival material, primary sources and collections of the James Hardiman Library at NUIG. The students will write a research study report on an event in history that interests them. Once completed It will be published by the University. We are looking forward to reading their work.
The aim of the programme is to support senior cycle history students as they complete their mandatory Research Study Report by connecting them with the important archives held at the James Hardiman Library at NUIG. During the campus visits students take a tour of the archives and get to engage with the documents held there as researchers.
Participating students engage in a series of workshops targeted at developing the following critical 21st Century Skills:
- Collaboration
- Critical analysis
- Narrative expression
- Technological proficiency
