A spotlight on an upcoming talent: Caoimhe Herviaux
During this unusual and uncertain time, one thing is for certain, there is some fantastic talent in Dunmore Community School and that is evidenced time and time again!
Today we would like to take the time to recognise the achievements in art of one of our fifth-year students, Caoimhe Herviaux.
Caoimhe constantly wows us in the art room and the greater school community with her incredible talents, so it’s fitting that others have recognised her skills.
Not once, but twice last year we saw Caoimhe’s name in lights as she gained accolades in two separate competitions. First of all earning herself a certificate of commendation in the Texaco Children’s Art competition, no mean feat in a competition which attracts 20,000 entries annually.
More recently Caoimhe was named as a winner of the Galway Advertiser’s Christmas art competition where her unique artwork of Santa in PPE gear appeared in one of their recent issues. Last week, the winners themselves were recognised, so check her out on page 32 of last weeks Advertiser!
Caoimhe is actively involved in preparing an art portfolio and we here at DCS wish her the very best, are confident she will do well and eagerly await her new visually enticing work. Well done Caoimhe!
