A busy term of mathematics in Dunmore Community School
In February, all first year students took part in the Irish Mathematics Teachers Association first year mathematics competition. Well done to Ben O’Connor who received the top score in first year. All participants received certificates, see pictures below.
May 18th saw 80 first and second year students undertake the Gauss International Mathematics Contest. The Gauss contests introduce students to a broader perspective of mathematics in a fun, accessible way. Intriguing problems make the Gauss contests a wonderful opportunity for all participants to grow their interest in and get curious about the power of mathematics.
Students were awarded Outstanding Achievement, Distinction and Participation Certificates. Well done to Shannon Kilgarriff who received the top score in first year and to Sadie Czubiak who received the top score in second year. Congratulations to all those who received distinctions and participation certificates.
