2nd Yr Basketball Girls reach Semi-Finals!
Well done to our brilliant 2nd Year Girls basketball team who travelled to Colaiste na Coiribe today and took home gold after a nail-biting finish! Trailing by 8 pts, a change in defence was necessary to create steal opportunity’s and get scores on the board. Isabelle Murray and Chloe Diskin put huge pressure on front freeing up the ball on the run for Meadhbh Hanley, Emma Heneghan and Grace Dooley. All girls played their part in finally levelling the game which led to a tense 3 min extra time. To our delight, a lovely basket by Grace sealed the fate of the Irish speakers as the buzzer went and Dunmore girls celebrated an amazing win by 1 basket! We meet Charlestown in the Regional Semi-Finals hosted by our school on March 11th with the dream of Finals within our grasp. Best of luck girls and Ms.Canny.
