We welcomed Des Sheehan Galway GAA to our school this week to give a GAA coaching course to our Transition Year students. As part of their PE programme, the students learned about the qualities of a good coach & the importance of being organized & a good leader. The students will use these skills to work with our younger students in school & they will organize a football tournament in the summer term.
As part of “Math’s Week”, our first years took part in a rapid revision maths quiz. In groups of 4, they had to answer as many questions as possible within the time limit at each station before moving onto the next. Topics included natural numbers, integers, fractions, sets and decimals. A special word of thanks to the TY students who helped out. Well done to all who took part!

The hot chocolate and the goodies were well received by all!
Yesterday our Transition Year class 4A conducted their Geographical Fieldstudy. It was made all the more enjoyable by the glorious temperature of 19 degrees on Silverstrand. Just fresh off the plane from the tour in Italy all the class were motivated to measure beach fabric, analyse beach slope and find wind and wave speed to name a few tasks. Well done to all of 4A and Ms. Canny & Ms. Maher for assisting.
