Best of luck to the students, crew and production Team of our Musical “The Sound of Music” who perform their opening Matinee this morning @ 10 am in front of 280 primary school students, their teachers and our first years. We, as a staff, are very proud of the hard work, dedication and commitment of our students involved with the musical. I assure you of a thoroughly enjoyable show for all who attend, going by the fantastic full dress rehearsal on Tuesday. Please note their are some tickets still available for the 3 nights but they are selling fast. Those attending please be seated by 7:45 pm each night.
Dunmore CS is a hive of activity this week as we fine tune everything for this Thursday’s opening night. Our students have put a huge effort into our Musical to ensure an excellent night’s entertainment for the audience. If you still have to get your tickets please do so quickly as we are getting close to selling out. Tickets can be bought in Howleys Eurospar, Dunmore CS Main office and in Quinns, Tuam.
To allow for final setup and organisation for the Musical, on Thursday, all students may go home at 1:15, Buses will run at this time. On Friday, 3rd and 6th years will have class as normal. All other students may remain at home on Friday or supervised study will be provided for those who wish to avail of it in school.
Our 1st and 2nd-year girls opened their basketball league with a tremendous display of skill on the 14th Feb against Pres Tuam. Impressive Dunmore fast breaks secured a great lead from the start of both matches which sealed the fate of the opposition. Well done girls and Ms.Canny and best of luck in the next game!
Dunmore Community School present Rodgers & Hammerstein’s The Sound of Music in the school Auditorium on Thursday the 28th Feb, Friday the 1st March and Saturday the 2nd March.
Tickets on sale in Eurospar, Quinn’s in Tuam and from the school office from 11am on 13th Feb. Tickets are €15 for each night (with U18 tickets available on Thursday night only @ €10).
Thanks to everyone who came along on Thursday night to experience our school and to meet our students and staff. It was lovely to meet you all. We really hope you got the opportunity to experience the wonderful atmosphere of our school. For those who were unable to make it, here are some photos from the night. Application forms are available from the school office for anyone who requires one.
We really hope all 6th class students are more relaxed and excited about coming to us next August.

Best of Luck to our Senior lads who play in the Connaught Final in Pearse Stadium today at 12 o clock. We are all looking forward to a great day out!
Supporter buses will leave the school during 2nd class. Please ensure you wear a warm jacket, hat gloves etc and a full uniform. We will stop on the way home for some lunch, so bring some money for a lunch. We intend to be back before 4pm for buses home.
Those not going may remain at school and avail of supervised study for the remainder of the day.
Please note: There is no canteen available.

Due to poor road conditions last week, we had no option but to postpone our open-night for a week. It will now take place this Thursday, the 7th February, starting @ 7:00pm. Preregistration at 6:45.
