Fantastic Monster work today from 1st years! They learned how to make a clay pinch pot and develop their ideas with learning how to attach features to create a monster. All are now left to dry over the weekend and next week they will learn how to paint them and use them as an introduction to making animations using smartphone technology. The students will learn the techniques involved in producing a short stop motion animation and linking animation to craft, in this case ceramics.
Our U16 and U19 girls put up a great performance for our 1st match today against St.Nathys in Ballaghdereeen. A strong Nathys side meant we came out a close 2nd but all girls played out of their skin and things can only get better…well done girls! Glenamaddy and Pres Tuam await as we prepare and build to get out of the group stage. Best of luck!
Well done to Niamh Doory & Jane Ryder who participated in the Regional Poetry Aloud competition in St. Enda’s Galway. A large number of students took part in this National Competition where participants had to recite two poems. The girls performed really well and really enjoyed the day. They plan to work with our First Years in order to encourage them to take part in this very enjoyable competition. Thanks to Ms Grehan for working with the girls and preparing them for the competition
