Bond Traders Challenge

Well done to our students from TY and 5th Year who took part in The Bond Trader Challenge in association with Bank of Ireland at The Raddison Blu Hotel, Galway. On the night, students worked in teams to manage their own bond portfolio by responding to real market scenarios. Well done in particular to “The Bond Blitzers” who performed exceptionally well. School Bank

Transition Year students along with Ger Brady from Bank of Ireland, Dunmore have set up a school bank. Students can open an account for €5 and the school bank will be open every Thursday at lunch time. Once 50 accounts are opened, account holder names will be entered in a draw for an I Pad! To be in the draw, make sure you open an account! Pictured are TY students Niamh Kelly, Mairead Gallagher, Laura Burke and Anna Glynn along with First year students Darren Jordan and Lorcan O’Connor who opened accounts today. (MDuignan)

Green Schools

Karl comer and James Quinn (transition year) have qualified as green school ambassadors 2016. In partnership with Irish water this programme focuses on the water theme of the green schools programme. They attended a workshop today which included speakers in the field of engineering, talks from the green schools and clean coasts programmes. They were also given a tour of the Terryland water treatment plant. Both students received certificates today. Now time to implement all of this new knowledge into DCS😀 ( ABrogan)
