'The Padraic Gilmore Art Appreciation Award' was set up in 1993 in memory of Padraic Gilmore, Tuam. Padraic died at a young age, but had shown great interest and flair for art.

Each year it is awarded to the Leaving Certificate student who shows the most promise in their artistic skills.
